The Centotaph  is located at Awhitu Central.

The cenotaph is transcribed with the names of Awhitu residents who participated in active duty during  World War One. It contains the names of those fallen and those who returned.

The centotaph was originaly located at Awhitu reserve, then relocated to the Awhitu Cemetry

This picture depicts the moving of the Centotaph to just ouside of the Awhitu Cemetry grounds.

The  Centotaph is the focal point  for local ANZAC commemorations when wreaths are laid at its base.
