Create Your Own Greenstone (Pounamu) Pendent

Summary: At the end of your workshop, under Tony's guidance, you will have a created a greenstone (Pounamu) pendant or touchstone carving. During this time you will be taken through the background to the importance of this wonderful stone in our country, the great respect it commands as our "treasure", and indeed the "heart" of this land "Aotearoa". Hard Stone sculpture requires expensive diamond tools to work the stone but the effort put in is rewarded by the sense of accomplishment in producing a wearable piece by the end of the workshop.

Bio: Tony Logan has been a hard stone sculptor and carver for over fourteen years. During that time he has exhibited in both north and south islands. He has won a prestigious national award and collectors from all over the world have bought his work. Tony's studio overlooks part of the garden set in a very tranquil valley, a short distance from the surf beach. Tony and his wife have a large, organic garden and a menagerie of animals.
