Summary: Under Aliah Jan's sensitive guidance you can take home your own oil painting of some of Awhitu's stunning scenery. Jan will provide all the materials and whatever guidance you require. If you are learning about oils, the aim is to help you paint more confidently outdoors. You will gain insights into mixing colours; capturing the light of the moment and creating compositions that make memorable landscape paintings. If you already have some level of expertise, this is a chance to work along side Jan in some great inspiring locations ripe for capturing on canvas.

Painter and photographer Aliah Jan trained in Graphic Design at Malaysian Institute of Arts, Kuala Lumpur. In 2002 she immigrated to New Zealand with her family to found Creative Joy Studio at Pollok on Awhitu Peninsula. The studio is a centre for both children and adults to become proficient in photography, art and ceramics. When not teaching art, Aliah Jan actively travels locally and abroad capturing suitable subjects for her own brushes and cameras. A regular winner of awards, she also judges for the Photographic Society of New Zealand and frequently gives the benefit of her skill and experience to local camera clubs.

NZ $870 for first painting.
$80 for each additional painting to cover cost of materials. It is expected that 2-3 paintings will be completed.
