A Great Horse Trek with Spectacular Views
Kim Dawkins has been riding for most of her life. She has competed in Ribbon Day Events, worked at riding school stables and obtained equine knowledge qualifications. During her 8-year stay at the Awhitu property she has built a large arena, which the horses enjoy. Kim's training philosophy is based on mutual respect for 'a beautiful and highly intelligent beast.'
Itinerary
4-6 hours with Kim
Arena Time includes:
- Brief discussion on equine safety and handling.
- Learning to watch how the horse talks to you.
- Grooming and gearing up the horse.
Trek Time includes:
- 20 minute ride in arena to assess mount suitability Trek Time includes:
- A quiet walk down the road into the Awhitu Regional Park for a beautiful ride though big open paddocks with breathtaking views of the Manukau Harbour.
- Lunch will be at the Historical Brooks Cottage where some of the local history can be shared as well as some of the best food Awhitu has to offer
